Fisk University is a highly ranked historically black university and is the oldest institution of higher learning in Nashville, Tennessee. Fisk’s outstanding faculty and students continue to enhance the University’s international reputation for academic excellence. These scholars continue to make strides in all areas of the industry from social justice to the sciences. Fisk offers more than 20+ undergraduate and graduate programs with a bridge to Masters and Ph.D. programs through a partnership with Vanderbilt University.

Founded in 1881 as the Atlanta Baptist Female Seminary, the school became Spelman College in 1924. Now a global leader in the education of women of African descent, today the student body comprises more than 2,100 students from 43 states and 10 foreign countries. Spelman empowers women to engage the many cultures of the world and inspires a commitment to positive social change through service. They are dedicated to the intellectual, creative, ethical and leadership development of our students.

Tuskegee University is an independent and state-related institution of higher education. Its programs serve a student body that is coeducational as well as racially, ethnically, and religiously diverse. 

It's strong disciplines include the sciences, professions and technical areas. Tuskegee University also emphasizes the importance of the liberal arts as a foundation for successful careers in all areas. All academic majors stress the mastery of a required core of liberal arts courses.
